sight at last..

Well, I never know what to write in a blog. I asked Mark if he had any suggestions. He says to write about what I do everyday, hobbies, etc. So I shall. Yesterday it was a very worrying day for me. Walter was getting his surgery. Its been a while since he could see with his left eye. He was losing hope that he would ever see again like his teenage years. Made me sad, but I never lose hope. I told him to go check his eye out. So he did. His cornea was damaged, how could he see? Luckily we got referred to this cornea specialist that is one of the best in America, they say. So he told us the date of the surgery, and he finally got it done. Yulissa and I waited 2 hours in the lobby with all the other families. She behaved so well despite that she only slept 4 hours that night. I was thirsty and tempted to drink from the baby's bottle filled with my favorite, Apple Juice.

Two hours later: The surgery was finally over with. The doctor was very happy with the successful cornea transplant. Walter was awake (he woke up in the middle of the procedure, eeek), but he was fine. We drove to Cosi's and had a delicious Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad followed by snow cones then drove home. He was doing great for having his surgery done an hour ago.

Today we went to his first check up. He could actually see, I was excited. The healing process may take up to a year or two. He's going to be wearing that eye patch for a looonng time. Not too comfortable if you ask me.
I call him my pirate.
